Mountain Vista Medical Center and Florence Hospital, both Steward Health Care facilities, have selected Heather Mahoney their new chief financial officer.  Mahoney will lead all aspects of the hospitals’ financial service operations and will guide the organization’s financial strategies and stewardship.

“Heather’s diverse background in administrative and financial positions makes her an excellent fit to oversee financial operations at our hospitals,” said Damon Brown, President of Mountain Vista Medical Center and Florence Hospital, as well as the Arizona Market President for Steward Health Care.

Mahoney comes to Mountain Vista after serving as the assistant vice president, corporate operations controller for Steward Health Care in Richardson, Texas.  In her role there, she was responsible for the management of the operational accounting processes for 36 hospitals that included general ledger, accounts payable and the information systems utilized in these processes.  She also has served in a variety of roles for IASIS Healthcare (now Steward Health Care) including market controller and corporate director of accounting, as well as a staff accountant for Scottsdale Healthcare, all in Arizona.

Mahoney graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

“I’m excited to be part of a strong senior leadership team,  providing financial direction and development and implementation critical strategies to successfully achieve the hospitals’ mission and vision,” Mahoney said.

Mahoney comes back to Arizona with her husband, Warren , and their three children – Hunter, Ava and Sophia.
